The German coach, who played a crucial role in guiding Chopra to his historic Tokyo Olympics gold and silver at the Paris Games, has decided to part ways due to personal family commitments. Bartonietz had hinted at his decision to step down earlier this year.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Chopra expressed deep gratitude for his coach's unwavering support and mentorship. “You are more than just a coach to me. Your guidance has shaped me as an athlete and a person,” Chopra wrote, reflecting on the impact of their relationship.

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has confirmed that they will appoint a new coach for Chopra by the end of the year, as they begin the next phase of his career.
